And the beat goes on...

Leah and I spent last week with some "down time" just having fun as girls.  Dad had an out of town business trip-so we tagged along and left the little guy behind.  We spent some quality girl time shopping, going to a movie, and hanging out.  It was a much needed break from little brother for Leah.

We did spend a little bit of time studying her Awana's and we also had some time to read stories together and converse about the meaning of life :)  And we had a field trip to the Jelly Belly Factory where we met up with two other homeschool families/friends.  Hoping to plan a field trip or two for March as well.

When we returned home, I packed for my homeschool retreat with a group of (mostly) homeschool veteran moms-spanning from homeschooling ages of 15 mos to 28?  (Obviously the 28 year old is not being homeschooled-she's actually in college studying to be a NICU nurse).  Only two of the seven mom's are homeschooling for the first year (myself included).  We spent the weekend at a nice home in Nevada City where we ate good food, had good school & spiritual conversations, and shared our triumphs & challenges for this school year.

This was a good weekend to remind me I need to NOT compare Leah to other children, to NOT allow others to make me feel inadequate for where Leah is (or is not) in her schooling and to realize that Leah is in Kindergarten and that one of my goals for homeschooling it to instill a love of learning, not to have her dread it.

My goal for the rest of March is to get us back into a routine, so I've chosen not to travel with Scott this month for his out of town trainings.  (He's not really travelling anywhere exciting this month anyways-ok maybe Camarillo would be nice...but...)

That's all for now folks.
