Celebrating Life!

This is just your “run of the mill” update from our family!  Nothing medical to report-that will come with the next update after my Stanford visit this coming week.

I wanted to jump on and share a few photos from our most recent “last minute” trip to Fort Bragg.  As many of you know, Scott’s family has been camping and diving in Fort Bragg since Scott was a small boy.  And when I met the family (before we even started dating) I made my first trek with them to Fort Bragg and even donned a wet suit that year (and for some years after).  In the years since that first trip in 1998, Scott and have only missed one year of camping in Fort Brag and that was in 2015-due to planning and prepping for grand celebrations last year where the timing to go just didn’t work out.  We had a 25th heart anniversary to celebrate & a 50th wedding reunion/celebration to put on.

We were once again slated to not go this year due to my health and the uncertainties of where I would be in this “road to transplant”.   Well I believe God ordained us to go this year with a renewal of health for myself, camping space available right next to our dear friends, and the provisions to make it happen.  And so off we went to Fort Bragg for a long Mother’s Day weekend.

We had beautiful weather during our entire trip, with the sun shining for most of it and no rain beyond the first day “mist”.  It was good to be back and next year, Leah’s planning on wearing that wet suit I wore so many years ago and going out in the water with Dad-just to snorkel and float around though-no diving for her.  Nolan's not quite as adventurous, but he said he'd hang on shore with mom and take photos!

 Nolan's amateur photoshoot
 Dad and Leah's fishing adventures
 The whole gang!
 Another picture Dad?!
 Banana Slug races...for real!
 Mother's Day morning.
 Fishing with the experts!
Dad & kids...or Nolan photobombing?

When we returned, the kids and I were in full stealth mode preparing for Scott’s Surprise 50th birthday party.  Lots of planning and preparation went into the party on behalf of the kids, myself and Scott’s mom.  And it all came together the day of the party when several long time family friends and family members arrived soon after I got Scott off the property.  They helped make all of our planning come together!

And that’s about it for grandiose things going on in our neck of the woods for our family.   I’ll be heading to Stanford for my 1st appointment on Tuesday morning and my last appointment (for this trip) on Wednesday morning.  And perhaps I’ll have news sometime after June 2nd in relation to my health status.

The one thing I know for sure-is that I will be celebrating 26 years with Eli’s heart on June 8th in style!

If you have the chance to listen to this young lady sing-you should!  She has an amazing voice and this is one of many of her songs that speak to me often!

I Am Yours

By Lauren Daigle
I see Your fingerprints
The work of Your hands
It's all in Your hands
I see the evidence
Leaving nothing to chance
The world's in Your hands
So I rest in Your promises
Now I am sure of this
I'm Yours
Let the waters rise
I will stand as the oceans roar
Let the earth shake beneath me
Let the mountains fall
You are God over the storm
And I am Yours
I hear the voice of love
Calling me home
To where I belong
It cripples every fear
And the ones who will kneel
Walk away healed
So I rest in Your promises
Now I am sure of this
I'm Yours
No power is strong enough
To separate me from Your love
I'm Yours
So let the waters rise
I will stand as the oceans roar
Let the earth shake beneath me
Let the mountains fall
You are God over the storm
And I am Yours
Even the thunder and the wind obey
At the command of my Father, Father
I set my feet upon Your mighty name
So let the rain fall harder, harder
So take my everything, my flesh and blood
I'll lay me down on the altar, altar
I am forever covered in Your love
So let the rain fall hard
So let the waters rise
I will stand as the oceans roar
Let the earth shake beneath me
Let the mountains fall
You are God over the storm
And I am Yours
Let the waters rise
I will stand as the oceans roar
Let the earth shake beneath me
Let the mountains fall
You are God over the storm
And I am Yours
You are God over the storm
And I am Yours
