Hello All.
I know it's been quiet here on my blog. But for goods reasons :)
Just living life and enjoying time with family and friends. No big health news for any of us, no major life changes or transitions...just regular, busy, sometimes fun, sometimes frustrating, but always blessed life!
Yesterday was the 2nd anniversary of my 2nd heart transplant and the celebration began on Friday with the arrival of my sister and oldest niece from Chicago. We hosted a family dinner on Friday evening that included my dad, step mom, eldest brother & his girlfriend. It was great catching up with everyone. (But I'm really bummed I didn't get any pictures during that visit!)
We then hosted our annual Back-to-School party with the mom's group that I joined when Leah was a year old. These ladies have become my closest friends and now our annual tradition just happens to fall abut the same time as my transplant anniversary.
Yesterday, my sister and I enjoyed some "girl-time" at a day spa in Folsom and then an evening at an elegant hotel on the American River, where we were able to catch up with one of our favorite aunts.
It was a perfectly wonderful weekend celebration with many fond memories. My niece from Chicago will be staying with us for the week and then the kids and I all fly her back to Chicago. We will then spend some vacation time with her family before school officially starts. Upon our return to California I will have my "annual" transplant appointment at Stanford to check in and get a peak into how this new heart of mine is doing via a heart cath.
And then our school year will resume.
That's about it. Here are a few pics from our summer activities this year so far!
