Hello family & friends.  It’s been a week since my last update.  The only news I have is that I received an email last night from the transplant team.  Approval has been received to start the testing to qualify for the transplant list.  I don’t have an appointment yet, but will have a CT scan and labs someday next week.

My sister flew in from Chicago last Thursday, and we left for Napa Friday morning.  We stayed at the luxurious Meritage Resort & Spa where we relaxed, laughed, ate yummy food, drank good wine and laughed and relaxed some more.  I was treated to a facial and massage during my stay.  The spa housed in a cave was most deluxe.  I think I know what needs to be on Scott’s ”to build next” listJ.  We’ve got hills where a cave could be dug out for a luxury spa right?

I also wore a 24-hour holter monitor from Monday morning until Tuesday morning.  Although, I did not get the quantity or severity of symptoms I’d been getting prior to last weekend, so I was a little disappointed.  Which is completely counterintuitive, because really-less symptoms is good, but not when you’re trying to show your doctor the symptoms you've been experiencing.  However, this did make me realize that clearly I need more massages & relaxation to lessen my crazy heart acrobatics :)

So I guess all the relaxing was good for my heart and soul.  However, I think my holter monitor test may be skewed now.  But I’m continuing to relax, and family and friends have been helping out so I can do just that.  If this keeps up, perhaps I can hang on to Eli’s heart a bit longer than I thought.

I want to continue to thank everyone for the kind words, cards, prayers, meals, visits etc.   They really do mean a lot to our family.

I woke up at 3:00 am this morning with these lyrics in my head (yes, I did finally fall back asleep-at least until 7:00 am).   Then I listened to the song play on the radio during devotions this morning and felt compelled to share.  The lyrics to the songs I’ve posted are really good, but if you get a chance to hear them be sung by the artists-take the time to do that- the words put to music is much more powerful.  Thanks everyone.

Every Good Thing

By The Afters

I tend to be busier than I should be
And I tend to think that time is gonna wait for me
Sometimes I forget and take for granted
That it's a beautiful life we live
I don't wanna miss the moments like this
This is a beautiful life You give

You're the reason for every good thing, every heartbeat
Every day we get to breathe
You're the reason for anything that lasts, every second chance
Every laugh, life is so sweet
You're the reason for every good thing, every good thing
Every good thing, every good thing...

There will be days that give me more than I can take
But I know that You always make beauty from my heartache
Don't wanna forget or take for granted
That it's a beautiful life we live
I'm not gonna miss the moments like this
This is a beautiful life You give

You're the reason for every good thing, every heartbeat
Every day we get to breathe
You're the reason for anything that lasts, every second chance
Every laugh, life is so sweet
You're the reason for every good thing, every good thing
Every good thing, every good thing...

It's our family, it's our friends
It's the feeling that I get when I see my children smile
You're the reason for this life, everything we love
It's You alive in us
You're alive in us

You're the reason for every good thing, every heartbeat
Every day we get to breathe
You're the reason for anything that lasts, every second chance
Every laugh, life is so sweet
You're the reason for every good thing, every good thing
Every good thing, every good thing...

You are, You are here in every moment,
And I know that You're every good thing
You are, You are here in every moment,
And I know that You're the reason for
Every good thing, every good thing...
