I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving to kick-off the 2015 holiday season.

SHORT VERSION UPDATE for why most of you peeked on here today:  I am not being put on the heart transplant list at Sutter :(  (see below for further details)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry I’ve been MIA for a bit.  The family and I took off last week to use some “use it or lose it” time from our timeshare exchange company.  So I did a last minute exchange to a resort in Escondido and it was so relaxing.  I looked for a resort with lots of amenities for the kids and Scott to take part in.  They played 18 holes of golf, life-size checkers games, swimming, water sliding, tennis, basketball and even roasted marshmallows for s’mores!  I was able to partake in a few of the activities myself.
We were even blessed by some dear friends of ours and were able to visit the Safari Park.  Thank goodness for my wheelchair, so I could partake in this fun day.  My little brother & his wife met us there and spent some of the day with us, before they had to get back to work.  We also had the opportunity to see them on Sunday, visit their church, meet their new puppy, play at the park & have dinner with them.
And I was able to visit with my friend Kimi and her family for dinner one evening, and then Kimi came and hung out with us another day at the resort & even partook in our water-slide adventures!
It was a relaxing, stress-free (except for medical stuff), much needed vacation  for all involved.
Back to reality…which actually was continuing to happen while we were down in San Diego area for vacation.  On Wednesday evening, I received a call from the pharmacy that our health insurance company denied the medication to treat my liver.
On Friday evening, I received the “official” call from the transplant team at Sutter (which I had been expecting) - that they have denied to add me to the heart transplant waiting list until my liver diseases is treated.  However, what I didn’t expect was since they do not feel I’m “qualified” to receive a heart transplant right now, they will not be referring me to any other transplant center.   Of course, I’m welcome to try and do that on my own.   EXHALE……
Not sure how this is all going to play out now.  I have an appointment this week with my liver doctor and hopefully we can come up with a game plan to appeal to the insurance company and he can give me advice on how to go straight to the manufactures of the medications he is prescribing.
And we will be pursuing other centers…on our own.   All the while, preparing for the upcoming December celebrations of Leah’s 11th birthday and Christmas.  The fun just keeps coming.  Stay tuned…
In the meantime, a reprise of a song that is still resonating with me:
Glorious Unfolding
By Steven Curtis Chapman
Lay your head down tonight
Take a rest from the fight
Don’t try to figure it out
Just listen to what I’m whispering to your heart
Cause I know this is not
Anything like you thought
The story of your life was gonna be
And it feels like the end has started closing in on you
But its just not true
There’s so much of the story that’s still yet to unfold
And this is going to be a glorious unfolding
Just you wait and see and you will be amazed
You’ve just got to believe the story is so far from over
So hold on to every promise God has made to us
And watch this glorious unfolding
Gods plan from the start
For this world and your heart
Has been to show His glory and His grace
Forever revealing the depth and the beauty of
His unfailing Love
And the story has only begun
And this is going to be a glorious unfolding
Just you wait and see and you will be amazed
We’ve just got to believe the story is so far from over
So hold on to every promise God has made to us
And watch this glorious unfolding
We were made to run through fields of forever
Singing songs to our Savior and King
So let us remember this life were living
Is just the beginning of the beginning
Of this glorious unfolding
We will watch and see and we will be amazed
If we just keep on believing the story is so far from over
And hold on to every promise God has made to us
Well see the glorious unfolding
Just watch and see (unfolding)
This is just the beginning of the beginning (unfolding)
